Christmas at Školka

This was our first year participating in the Czech Christmas activities at Anika's preschool. We brought oranges and apples to stick cloves into for a sweet smelling treat, had some non-alcoholic 'punč' and unwrapped gifts from 'baby Jesus' (who supposedly brings the gifts and puts them under the tree) for the school - a myriad of new toys, art supplies and books.

Anika unwrapped a few books which she quickly got into. Here some children's books fold out concertina style.

Sweet treats made by other parents at her school.

Another Czech Christmastime tradition, floating candles in walnut shells.

Presents awaiting under the tree.

The unwrapping frenzy begins!

Anika's quite happy with the present she unwrapped!

Adam and Anika enjoying the toys!
