Snapshots of Summer
These past two months have been a blur, the summer time is our busy season! It started out by helping and hosting friends for a Young Life English Camp, we developed relationships and honed our Czech at two Czech camps with several families, we did a short but sweet intensive Czech course in the city and rested well in the Finnish countryside thanks to the generosity and hospitality of my Godmother. Here are some photos from our summer!
Our dear friends from Maine, the Funderburks, came to scout out opportunities to serve and partner with our local church this summer. It was a blessing to be with them and to dream about the possibilities ahead.
It was really beautiful to see the special relationships that grew out of serving at YL City Camp for a week!
The view from our window at camp with our local church, Betanie. We were the first Americans (and Aussies) to stay there ever!
No camp is complete without a good hike in the forest. We were treated to forest blueberries, cool spring water and good conversation as we trekked with our mates.
Every night before bed, our pastor would do a bed-time story and song for the kids. A Czech tradition we have come to love!
Anika, our water-baby!
This summer we've enjoyed many family bike rides!
From our first boat ride in the archipelago of southern Finland.
Captain Anika! Being on the boat was Anika's favourite thing about our trip to Finland.
We learned about mushrooms and berries from my Godmother - who has become quite an expert on the food of the forrest!
